All I Ask of You

by Brad Champagne   Jan 2, 2008

**I wrote this poem for a friend for her new love**

I've looked and waited, wondering lost
The expanse of life to find my love,
Only to find while I was gone
You were sent from God above.

My heart becomes so strangely warmed
Each time I see your handsome face.
These feelings well and overflow
To think of you while in this place.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder,
Dreams now become my one escape.
The trials and hardships of life I ponder
Then disappear and dissipate.

To know such love as this is mine,
Shared freely, given all to you,
Has lifted me on eagles wings,
Transcending to a love so true.

Do with my heart what you will do,
But love me; that's all I ask of you.
