Praying For Another Night Sky

by Aaron Deevers   Jan 3, 2008

I look towards the night sky
I close my eyes
I pray to see another day

Every night I do this
Crouch onto my knees
Next to this hospital bed
Praying for luck

As I crouch next to my dying daughter
I pray to you tonight lord
I pray that you let her see another day another night

As I pray a tear falls from my face
As I stand up to kiss her goodnight
I see a star shining bright
Flying across the night sky

As I sit in this chair to sleep tonight
I know that star was my wish for this night
I hope and pray to see another each night I pray
As I sit and watch my daughter suffer in pain this night

The night will come that she will go
And I know that my wishes for one more night are no more
Till that night comes upon me
I will crouch here next to this hospital bed
Praying for just another day and night with my dying daughter

~This is just a poem I came up with has nothing to do with me nor anyone else. If you can chack out my other poems thanks~

A very sad but enjoyable read. The image of a father doing all he can for his dying daughter was painted very well and left this reader feeling tremendously sad.. a fantastic write.

What a sad story you have put to verse Aaron. There are so many dying children in this world. Good job on telling this.
