We Forget To Notice

by Aaron Deevers   Jan 3, 2008

There are things we forget
We forget to see what we have
Many of us go without notice
Many of these are what we need

To hear a childs laughter
To hear birds chirp each morning
To hear the sounds of life
We forget to notice this

To see the people you love
To see your children grow
To see life form before your self
We forget to notice this

To speak to friends
To speak your say
To have a voice that is heard
We forget to notice this

We go each day
Not noticing that many of us
Do not have the ability to do some of these
Let us notice this now
We are the lucky ones
We can live a normal life

~Not a poem that rhymes, just thought it was different~

    Aaron,

Most people realize these things when they survive an accident or recover from an ilness. Like the saying..you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

    Very meaningful poem by you.

    How true your words ring.

    To hear a childs laughter
To hear birds chirp each morning
To hear the sounds of life
    We forget to notice this

So many people get so tied up in everyday life they forget to notice the beauty around them. Till it is snatched away.
    Great job!
    Take care Cindy
