Rumors

We hear them all the time
sometimes we even take part
and without even knowing it
were breaking someones heart

we all as humans have feelings
there are times when we get hurt
but the pain it seems is so much more
when we get hurt by "dirt"

friendships are made to suffer
relationships torn apart
by things that are said and done
without knowing peoples true heart

remember how it made you feel
the untruths that were told
you always wonder what people think
and once great friendships grow cold

if you do hear a rumor
or heaven forbid start one
just remember who you might affect
because some pain can't be undone

im no saint, ive played both parts
ive listened and flung dirt
but words and tears come easy in life
when you're the one thats hurt
