Lay in the Dark

by Armada the Gestalt   Jan 7, 2008

Stifle the wind chimes,
Lock all the windows,
Block all the light out,
Lay in the dark.

Silence the thoughts and,
Shut out the sights that,
Seek to remind you,
Lay in the dark.

Do you,
Remember,
What it was like to,
See days go passing all on their own,
When you used to think that time went by,
On the fly,
Were you right or are you seeing it all now,
Beyond eyes,
As you,
Lay in the dark.

Quiet the singing,
Shun the old voices,
Deign to sweet nothing,
Lay in the dark.

Smother the calling,
Doubts in your head like,
They are mere shadows,
Lay in the dark.

Do you remember,
When I still knew you,
How frightened you were of the night,
I see it clearly,
I'd touch your cheek as,
You clung to me,
Eyes caught between I and the sleeping moon,
Now you forget that,
You let it go as you,
Lay in the dark.

Strangle the screaming,
Murder the nightmares,
Don't let them touch you,
Lay in the dark.

Strike down my words and,
Battle my presence,
Hush love it's me don't,
Lay in the dark.

I am here now,
Do I shine dim enough for you,
Your weakened eyes,
That used to seek my glow,
Turn away and go back,
I'll wait here,
I'll take your place,
I'll hold empty spaces for you,
Go seek the light,
As I,
Lay in the dark.
