Innocence

by Paige Lea   Jan 8, 2008

So, here it is...
I cried at night,
because you weren't there
I prayed at night,
because you weren't there
I wished at night,
because you weren't there
I wanted the night,
because you weren't there

Now...
I smile at night,
because life is better
I don't pray at night,
because life doesn't suck
I don't wish at night,
because I don't hurt so bad
I don't want the night,
because my heart isn't as black

I radiated a broken innocence because you weren't there.
I still have my innocence, but it isn't for you anymore.

I'm my own person.
I'll always love you - you're my best friend
But I'm free now...I'm happy for once in so long.

I'm glad you're happy too - I'm glad you can look at me with joy and know that I don't hurt over you anymore...I hope you don't hurt over me either.

My innocence is radiated unbroken because you made the decision to watch me walk away and be happy...because you were.

Now, take my hand...let's walk together
You remember, like we used to...Innocent Angels
