Portrait Of A Loose Girl

by brie kelly wise   Jan 8, 2008

She ties her ropes around your finger
Here she lies, a breathless girl lingers
Her mascara petals scattered on the floor
She's been beaten, straight down to her core
Who knows where she hid her sacred heart
Where she lied to herself, to break apart
To all the days she kept her guard
To all the guys that left her scarred
To all the friends she called her heart and soul
Without you, her life wouldn't be whole
If only you didn't move on too soon
While there was this girl sitting here in her room
December rolled around fast, as another leaf reached for the ground
And another portrait of a loose girl drowned
From the bedroom window, the grass looked green
But who really knows what lies between
Just like this portrait of a pretty face
She claimed to be another lonely girl, out of place
The note she left behind positioned its mark
For this portrait of a loose girl goes up in flames from a tiny spark
