All That You Can Chew

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 9, 2008

You're getting older but still don't know,
How to look up and just say: "no".
I know you have a heart that burned
And wants more than anything, just to be heard.

I love you, but don't get much attention from you,
You love me and get all that you can chew.
But the food runs out baby,
So what, then?-- maybe
You'll have to make time to save me.

You don't know how,
But you have the strenght in need.
Why don't you give me the sacred cow
So i'll have something to feed?

You're scared of all of those you don't need,
And let them take my throne from me.
You think I'll take the pain-- and I will!
But why shouldn't it be them that spill?

If not for anger, thunder could speak,
And if it could cool down; its words would still shriek.
I feel like thunder when your eyes look and seek
The smiles of others you don't need to peek.

I've tried to tell you this, face to face,
But you just look away from me.
So what can I expect to replace
The heart that I hold on my knees.

For the meantime
I'll sit and wait.
If your eyes will shine
They will fill my plate.

But I can't tell which way the wind blows,
And don't think anybody knows.
Dont believe the weatherman's lows
He pretends to be right so that his ego grows.
