The Fallen

by Justin King   Jan 9, 2008

In the Lord's name I pray,
Father please grant me this dream.
Though I have fallen from your favor,
I'll repent everyday for this blessing.

You left me on this world
To discover the meaning of life.
You saw fit to send me an angel
With whom I found this, my wife.

I've walked through the Garden of Eden,
Living a perpetual paradise.
But recklessly I tasted the forbidden fruit.
Now it's our curse to pay the price.

I let my angel fall from grace.
Now heaven is but a memory.
I long for the day our love rises again
For this life in hell is not much of a destiny.

Father I've seen the error of my ways,
Suffered the torments of lost and misery,
But how do I spend the rest of my life
Without the angel you blessed me with, my Eve.

Truly mankind has fallen a long way.
Your own son was sacrificed for us all.
Still we take the important things for granted.
Living lives of sin, we're all destined to fall.
