The Pendulum Is Swinging

by Justin King   Dec 21, 2007

Life is governed by time.
Time passes at a steady pace.
Yet, it's up to you to live it
And to make it truly great.

As the clock begins to tick,
You start out as a child trying to discover what life is.
As the pendulum swings,
You grow into a man, through an eternal metamorphosis.

Left and right, you undergo changes
For everyone's eyes to see.
Never predetermined as good or bad,
They're whatever you make them be.

An endless cycle,
Personified by the transition of night to day,
Life circles clockwise
Between unbearable and great.

Yet unlike time, life is not eternal.
It's up to you to determine where and when your hour hand lands.
But keep in mind, time never stands still.
You can't slow its grains of sand.

Eventually, the clock stops
And the rusted gears grind and slow down at a steady rate.
Life is subject to time,
But don't just leave it up to fate.
