Under Water

I breathe in, but can't
Liquid seeps into my nose

I swim, but can't find the surface
I am taking in water, taking my dose.

How long can I hold my breath?
How long will it be until someone finds me?

Floating here in this dark abyss
I can't find an air pocket, I can't even see.

My lungs bleed for air, needing help
I cannot take this much longer as I give in.

Win or lose this battle, I feel like bursting
I don't want to give in, I need to fight, I need to win.
