Reason and Love are sworn enemies

by Behind Blue Eyes   Jan 16, 2008

It's funny how love can start off
So lustful, yet pure.
With butterflies in the stomache,
And a bit of allure.
Leading to love,
And passionate affection.
The love bug struck,
And spread his infection.

But sometimes love
Runs out of romance
Letting you know that 'forever'
Never had a chance.
Sweet kisses become bitter
And then, so do you.
Your relationship falls apart
And you say that you're through.

But what is the reason
For this cynical end?
What is the cause
That we cannot transcend?
Why do two people
Fall in and out of love?
It is something we have yet
To conceive of.
