Run Away

by Francine   Jan 16, 2008

I watch her grow
Every second of everyday
On my own
Since you went away

You'll miss so much
Of watching her grow
Her first words, first steps
You'll never know

And then one day
I'll have to explain
Why Daddy left
Again and again

Why he missed out
On most of her life
Why he walked out
On his daughter and wife

No reason will justify
What Daddy did
How do you tell
Things like this to a kid

I just hope someday
You'll make it all up
To the ones that you hurt
And the life you gave up.

And I hope when you do
It won't be too late
The harder it will be
The longer you wait

So run away for now
Do what you must
But the longer you run
You'll lose her trust

But know that she has
All the love in the world
Because Mommy would never
Leave her little girl.
