Let's Pretend

Let's all just pretend
that there were no lies
that we were all happy
and so very surprised

Let's pretend there were no signs
and that we didn't see
that there were cuts
or injuries

Let's pretend that we didn't hear her cries
and that we didn't see the tears
that she was happy
and had not a single fear

Let's pretend that she wasn't dying
that she wasn't afraid
that she was filled with love
and never surrounded with hate

Let's pretend that we cared
that we told her we were here
and that she always had our shoulders
and had a beautiful reflection in the mirror

Let's pretend that we're not liars

    Wow...
    The emotions expressed from the first to the last stanza are so intense, overwhelming. Whole poem is excellently written and deeply touching, it brought tears to my eyes.
    Originality of the whole piece is amazing along with good flow and fantastic ending.
    My favorite stanza is:

    -Let's pretend that we cared
    that we told her we were here
    and that she always had our shoulders
    and had a beautiful reflection in the mirror-
