The Darkened Sky

by emilyy   Jan 17, 2008

Beneath the darkened sky

Is this image of you and i

Under the bright stars

Is where we'll realize who we are

The sun is hiding behind the moon

It'll be back too soon

I dont want this night to end

I want to stay here holding your hand

The moon light is shining down

As you kiss away all my frowns

Here we slowly walk in the park

With the cover of the dark

The stars match the twinkle in your eye

As they lay in the bad of the darkened sky

We come by the little kids playground

I took a good look around

And there was nothing else to see

Because standing here is just you and me

You begin to gently push me on the swing

And in my ear you are softly whispering

Your voice is a sweet song

But suddenly, i remember we dont have too long

Then you gently kiss my soft lips

With your strong hands on my hips

So my worry went away

And i am no longer concerned about when night becomes day

I dont know how you fix everything so well

But this is my favorite story to tell

I will remember this forever

The night of the darkened sky and us together

I liked how you made this a story in a way, and how it all was descriptive and flowing. I'm adding this to my favorites, I just adore this poem. Nice work!
