Trees

by Neil Marsden   Jan 18, 2008

Kiss the falling, failing leaves goodbye,
As they desert you on their annual display,
Of open indifference.
Smile for all the Children,
For they are in no way guilty,
Of any of our horrors.
They will inherit a World,
That we have built for them.
Shaded only by consistent trees.

Neil Graham Marsden.

Hey there Neil! Welcome to P&Q. (Glad to have the honor of having written your first read, btw.)

I like the thoughtful feel this poem has. It sounds like a personal reflection or something, and I love reading/writing poems like that. Definitely a 5/5 for me!
