Reality in crisis

by Lucy Vandenberg   Jan 19, 2008

So they question the child
with their dysfunctional eyes
for insight is lost in illusion

and judgement is passed
in a world not applied
to the prison he must abide in

so cripples the image of self
absorbed in a world of confusion
reality in crisis embraced

This made me think. The opening verse is truly exceptional (imo) and the last line threw my meagre gray matter into overdrive. A nice change to read something so unusual.
