Stained Canvas of Your Lies

by Brittney Follett   Jan 20, 2008

Through a paintbrush, a story is told
With each stroke and each touch,
The tale is unraveled before us all
Each and every color say so much.
Portraying the love and the hate.
Crimson smeared across the canvas,
To her, meeting you seemed like fate.
You told her things to earn her trust.
Your twisted words were just the start.
..The pace of the brush grows frantic..
She tells us you broke her heart.
..The colors explode out of control.
You took EVERYTHING from her.
All that remains is her jaded soul.
The painter stops, stares at the canvas.
Her heart poured out for all to see..
She tosses the painting into the trash.
Leaving the room, the painter's free.
She's thrown away that life with you.
A new one is reborn, now that it died.
All that remains of her old life is:
Simply, a Stained Canvas of Your Lies.

The 11th verse, 4th word perhaps you wanted to type "you" insted of "your". After taking time to go through all the poems you've written this year it's my true and pleasing pleasure to let you know that your classic description matched only your talent and creativity. They made me graet in its style and impact.
    I like the sentence:
"..The colors explode out of control"

Hey that was an interesting concept. I'm sure the final product on the canvas wasn't very pretty, but surely it had a lot of meaning behind it.
