Hey Beautiful

by Mira   Jan 20, 2008

"Hey beautiful," he said
I asked if he was talking to me
"I just wanted to see what you would say."
I assumed he had a double motive.

"I really like you," he said.
I asked if he meant me
"I just wanted to see what you would say."
I felt embarrassed and left.

I saw him later

He took my hand and disappeared into words of affection.
I saw obsession.

I backed away.
I felt fear and anguish and self-hate.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to see what you would say," he said.
I asked him if he truly meant it, what he had said.

Softness, gentle lips.

"I like you."
I felt shock.
I saw pain.

He asked me if I like him too.
"No," I said.
He let his hands drop to his sides.
I ran away.

"Hey beautiful," the other one had said.
I had turned towards him, embracing him.
"I want to feel you," he had said.
I hadn't given.
He had taken.

"Hey beautiful," he said.
I wanted it so badly.
I am so afraid.
"No," I said.
And I ran away.
