Memories...

by Phantasmagoria   Jan 21, 2008

Encased in glass
for the world to see
frozen forever
a mere blink in time
forgotten memories
overlooked smiles
reliving the glory days
with no one by your side
to remember with you.
Holding hands with age
and prom dates that
won't come back
reminded of star filled nights
on the town.
Kissing the boy
who had died trying to
fly
away
to places that don't exist
outside of memory
with no one there to
remember him.
Ice skating in Central Park
with the kid who grew up
to be President
of another unknown country
that we'd bombed ages ago.
Crying because
Jill took too many pills
and couldn't wake up the next day
with no one there to tell her story
or that everything would be okay.
Just pictures --
frozen frames fading into blank paper
with no one there to
remember you.
