Life of a bird

by jason   Jan 22, 2008

Feathers fall gently toward the earth
the old bird fluttering his wings for all its worth
he has seen many changes seasons come and go
birds of freedom in the spring, cuddled up throughout the snow

singing songs of wisdom for all to hear
to return to his same perch each and every year
making his home for his mating goal
to keep the gene pool swimming like a fishes shoal

one thing on that birds mind
keep going to feed his young even when they are blind
and even when they are half grown up chicks
teach them the art of making homes with sticks

and when his work is been and done
winter almost here he flys them to the sun
to keep them warm and feeling safe
a different climate and hopefully a warmer place

now he is old seen his chicks leave the roost
tatty feathers old grew skin, all feeling loose
he takes one final flight as gracefully as can be
heading for the sun,but dies falling to the sea

the life of a bird is not far from all of us
if only we could learn what we see all around us
I'm sure the world would be a better place
if we all stood back and watched in natures faith

If only we would realize that in our day-by-day life!
