Confetti Sunshine (Ode)

I remember when my days were dark and grey,
When pain had blinded my eyes,
When I never knew what I was going to say,
And when the world ignore my cries.

Then one fateful day in the past,
I stumbled upon this site,
And with a range of poems that was oh so vast,
I found a poet who sparkled with light.

She helped me when I was a nothing,
When no one would give me a chance,
She never stopped encouraging,
And gave me the courage to take a stance.

She gave me the strength to improve,
Pushed my self-esteem to an all time high,
Never made me feel like I had something to prove,
And always had an encouraging reply.

She sprinkled my time with an abundance of joy,
Confetti sunshine dancing within my mind,
And with the power to demolish she never destroys,
A poetic goddess and timeless teacher combined.

    beautiful poem indeed i loved the flow. the choice of words were strong and beautiful at the same time.

    Wonderful expression, the flow showed the meaning of perfection. A well written ode and with a storyline that warmed my heart. This poem was overflowing with love and heartfelt emotion earning it a 5/5 and the winning poem of the contest. Congratulations again!

    Very beautiful and touching from the beginning to the end. Truly great ode, filled with emotions.
    The title is eye-catching and the whole atmosphere that you created is lovely.
    My favorite stanza is:

    Effective ending. I like your choice of words and whole atmosphere created here.
