Monday Thoughts

by walter purvis   Jan 26, 2008

The wind blows through his hair
disturbing the thoughts in his head
The kind of thoughts that float
around an empty Monday morning head
The grey streets fill his heart
as his thoughts return to blue skies
and fields turning blood red
poppies in the wind
So many years ago
So many lost friends
So many questions left unheard
The cold wind brings tears
to an old mans eye
or is it the chill in his heart
as he walks the grey streets
with Monday morning eyes
