The Slime Nobody Talks To

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 27, 2008

Nobody wants to talk to me,
So I'm a lonesome man.
I spy the smiles that be
Saying all they can
But they don't look at me
They're riding on their van.

Where do they go
So far away from here?
Why am I below
Reaching for their ears?

Nobody talks to me,
So nothing is clear.
How can they expect me
To be able to cheer.

Nobody wants to hear my voice
And what my mind says.
They all go for the same choice
Of making me a mess.

I would've been like you
With your perfect smile.
If I hadn't been chewed
And tossed a mile.

Nobody wants to talk to me
So I have learned;
To frown so perfectly
That nobody's concerned.

I'm nobody's problem;
Nobody's heart.
Nobody's emblem
Of what is smart.

What do I stand for as a whole?
Nothing it seems.
Except for a tarnished soul
Breaking at the seems.

And if you see me melting and gliding
Down the street; sliding.
Its too late to feel bad for me
I'm tired-- let me just flee.

You could've helped when it counted
By opening your ears,
To listen at the things that mounted
Up on top of this face of tears.
