He died and life moved on

by lost and incomplete   Jan 28, 2008

Soft feathers of light
draw back the warmth of night

unfurling crimson tides
lapping at lavender shores
stars shoot across saphire skies
as boats drift where they are moored

birds circle
as a body is found
a boy
who died to the sound of gunshot
ringing round and round

the grass whispers softly
whilst the mother mourns
as the father stares crossly
and the sister unmoved yawns

no one cared apart from the mother
he died and life moved on
the cliffs look slightly rougher
he died and life moved on
