Jump Start My Heart

by Enya   Jan 29, 2008

There's a girl I think I used to know,
Who loved to dance in fields of gold,
With tiger-lilies in her hair.

She smiled the smile of a life well lived,
Though her wrists were red,
And scarred with steel.

This child I thought I used to know,
One yesterday to many ago,
I heard her sing sweet melodies,
That time had left behind.

Please send a letter-bomb,
To my one true love,
Like an icy breeze
Rushing past an age gone by.

So jump-start my heart for me,
So as you can see,
I am weary from running through
Mazes left unsolved.

Indigo blue rain falls from the eyes,
Of a girl I swear I thought I knew.
Across the valley of what's been left unsaid,
And what the mind regrets.

Though one too many of my cuts,
Have not healed,
To reveal,
The pain the still lingers,
Deep inside my heart.

For this girl I knew I now have known,
As she fell from my eyes,
On the surprise,
To join me in those fields of gold,
With tiger-lilies in her hair.
