Fly Away To the Sea.

by SmileeItsBritt   Jan 30, 2008

It was only a second, a sliver in time,
We shot and we scored without second chances
The camera flashed and all was lost
It was all about winning no matter the cost

We were outnumbered infinity to two,
Our promises flying through the barrel of a gun
But we rode the wave for what it was worth,
Not caring about who we crushed, or who we hurt.

With a delicacy we flaunted the truth
Too willingly we opened our hearts
And these ordinary folks, they just couldn't believe
So we waved and we screamed, and we shouted our dreams.

But from the rooftops they couldn't hear us,
We were drowned out by the wails of the storm
Our bargains we left with the thunder,
And we were left all alone to go under,

Fly under the rainbows, and into the sea
Where we drown in our sorrow and sweet memories
But we swam then we sank, like a hundred pound rock
A memo was given, but the world just forgot.

They followed us here, but we've made our own tracks
So let's run into the field filled with blossoms of hope,
Let's follow the path and leave them behind
Let's rip them to shreds, and the ties that they bind.
