Rose Petals

by Paige Lea   Jan 30, 2008

The way I stray so far from the truth
Is like cutting myself with the thorn of a rose.
But I was not fast enough,
For he surely pierced my heart with a silver blade,
Cursing me to bleed forever and lie in the darkness of hate.
Surrounded by souls of no beauty, no passion, no love.
How I loathe that man, despise that heart -
Untouched and unbroken.
Hell will rise soon enough and engulf the plains of forever,
Strike down eternity.
Bring to ruin to the better of life.
For life, itself, is doomed
But the promise made to me keeps me alive in the moment -
To pray for forever,
Defeat the dark one,
And live in love and happiness with my own beloved.
My own heart, healed and mended,
I will live to see forever.
I will love for all of eternity,
I will stop my own demons,
I will face my fears -
For I am not alone.
So, friends, take in your hearts.
Celebrate life with each day,
With each hour, my friends.
Hold onto your hearts,
And never let them go.
Your rose petals are yours forever.
