Painless Night

Painless night
Fallen to a blood soaked floor
Sure of her decision
She let's go of the bottle shielding the pain
Drags metal down her wrists
And drops three red stained blades
Quickly scribbles words, her last thoughts
Saying goodbye to family, friends and gives a reason.
She places her nails on the new wounds made

Fingers going numb, feelings fades, visions blurred.
One more thought, her boyfriend.
She doesn't want to leave him, she grabs the phone.
Quickly calls him, tells him if she's gone, she loves him.
He asks whats going wrong, whats happening?
She hangs up and calls 911, then writes a few more things.
Feeling lost, from her hands, heartbeat slows and goes cold.
Last thing she sees is a picture of him and closes her eyes

Tears fallen upon a cold, still face,
Flowers on a nightstand with cards beside,
Those she cares for stand at her bedside
Her eyes open for just a slight moment.
She murmurs "I'm sorry" with her last breaths.
Thoughts of the cold metal burning into her wrists,
The warm blood down her arms.
Her last thoughts of that stale note written
The smell of her old perfume covering it
Every moment of that night regretted, realizing she will never laugh again.
She slips into a motionless sleep as they watch and weep.
Her boyfriend gives her one last kiss and his ring to keep.
