Here Lies My Happiness

by scars and stories   Feb 1, 2008

Here lies my hopes for life
Led by my own rules, by my own desires,
Given for another's rule
To avoid confrontation.
Envying a suicidal heroine's courage for rebellion
Pathetic, but always and forever with a smile,
Hiding uncried tears.
Burning their marks into the backs of my eyes
Smiling to the point I can no longer feel sadness,
No longer can I even cry.
My tears lie here beside my free will,
My only release,
My only glimpse into who I should have been,
Buried forever. Now I smile always,
And just feel numb inside
Because to have happiness, there must be sadness.
I bid farewell to my happiness at this plot as well,
And leave the tortured shell that once held it to walk the Earth
Void of emotion, void of meaning, void of life.
I hope they're happy, I have buried myself for them.
