When

by Alexa Eudis   Feb 2, 2008

When someone lies to us,
we confront them and move on.

When someone stabs us in the back,
we take the knife out,
and deny that person out friendship.

When our backstabbing friends come crawling back,
we dismiss the pain and grant them forgiveness.

But when we are denied the chance to love someone,
we want to climb in a hole and die.
But we know we can't give up.

So we cry ourselves to sleep at night,
and when night turns to day,
we wipe the tears away,
and we pretend all is fine.
But when the day is over,
we return home to start crying again
