A Truth

by coupon can   Feb 4, 2008

I knew nothing about you, except that you were incredible
Everything I ever wanted laid in your words
Everything I ever needed laid in your arms
Your perfection was all I could see
Your flaws and mistakes unheard, unnoticed

I thought you had this all planned out
Nothing like the truth seemed to be heard
Nothing like the love seemed to be felt
Dreams were shattered, lies were told
Dreams never existed, our future, unknown

I know nothing about you except that you're here
Something is telling me to forget your words
Something is forcing me to breathe you in
And yet I'm ashamed, I don't want you to go
And yet your smile holds a truth only I know

I believe in your love, your eyes, your lies.
Feeling alive once again in your arms
