All it ever seemed to Me

by Gabrielle   Feb 4, 2008

My body is numb, your face destorded.
I take another drink forced to forget everything I've ever wanted.
My shame's overwhelming,
and I'm more then willing to drown in my own sorrow.
Let me lie to myself and I will oppose you no burden.
Your voice reveals what's already lost and broken.
My heart is cold just as the day you took it from me.
Playing the game like I was the one who needed saving.
So, now I'm here breaking something that was fine from the start.
Tasting the stab of bitterness, the words that tore us apart.
I'll be fine now that I can't understand what you're saying.
Controlling all my sadness with another shot of whiskey.
Maybe in the morning this will all just be a dream.
Since reality is all it ever really seemed to me...
