On the street corner

by slynn   Feb 5, 2008

The unblessed beauty
in such an obvious, unwatched place
a dim star not hung in the heavens but sentenced to the unperfect terra
it yearns to break free from it's solid tether
to escape and fill the hollowness of the yet suffocating endless
'there'
it burns only to dispel the void
yet it is never able to end the dark but a breath's distance

alone it is hopeless
without meaning

but it is connected

it flows, it's power, and so do they all share
each igniting a small sphere in the vast nothing expanse
the areas touched become so many
so soon they reveal

and with so much light the midnight becomes dawn

set loose they are given freedom from the sun
the Son

I love the multiple meanings in the poem Stacey. Even if you originally didn't plan it to turn out that way, it works really well. The descriptions were good, and it was a nice freestyle poem. Put some more up soon.
