Anna Molly

Before you read this..Know that this is a story. I had to write it for Desktop Publishing class..I want to know what y'all think about it. Thanks. (:

There was this young girl. She was about ten years old and her name was Anna Molly. She wasn't the social type. She was more into books and computers and things of that source. She was very beautiful, yet people never talked to her. She lived with her grandparents in a small run-down house. People would pick on her about where she lived. Her grandparents weren't poor but they just never wanted to leave that place because they had been in it so long and it held so many memories. So she never bothered to complain about the house. She even actually liked it a little herself.
When she was about thirteen, she asked her grandmother what happened to her parents. Her grandmother said that she was not to speak of her mother or father ever again. She was very shocked by the way grandmother had acted about it. She would have gone to her grandfather, but he would have gone to her grandmother afterwards and she would have gotten into trouble. So she let the deal go.
The days went by. She became depressed and stopped reading. She slept way more and her grades in school started slipping. She just wanted to know about her parents. That's all. Just hear who they were, where they are, why they aren't here, anything! Her grandmother saw what was going on and she couldn't take it anymore. She sent Anna Molly to her Aunt Arleen's house. She lived there until she was sixteen.
Then something started happening. She was changing clothes and she saw scales on her body. She freaked out and screamed. Her Aunt Arleen rushed in the room and saw the scales. She sat Anna Molly down and told her the whole deal with her mother and father. Her mother is a mermaid which got a chance to be human. And her mother, being the risk taker she was, took advantage of the chance. But she took advantage of it way too much. She met a human man while on land and she fell in love with him right then and there and he saw no need to wait and got married. They had a child but then after the child was born, a very mad father came out the water and cursed his daughter's child and took his own daughter back to ocean. Her husband was utterly confused and he was left with missing pieces to what had happened.
After his daughter was around one years old, he got a letter from his wife. She explained that she was a mermaid and that their child would become one at the age of sixteen. He lost it. He knew he had lost his wife from that moment. But there was something in the envelope and he pulled it out and it was a bottle of some sort of liquid. There was a smaller letter with the bottle and he began to read it. It read that he has a chose to either drink it and become a merman to be with his wife or stay on land but he'd still lose his daughter because no matter what she would become a mermaid. He decided to drink the liquid but first he had to find someone to watch his daughter until she turned sixteen. He went to his parents. He told them that he was going to drink a bottle of liquid that would turn him into a merman so he could be with the love of his life. They were really mad but had said they would take care of the child but would not mention a thing about her parents. He didn't like that idea, but he agreed. He told them that she had to be taken to the ocean at the age of sixteen and she would then be able to greet her parents and live forever. They agreed.
After he left, they took care of Anna Molly but they missed their son and eventually started to blame Anna Molly's mother for this. If it wasn't for the woman and her having the child, her son would still be here. So when Anna Molly asked about her parents, her grandmother lost it. Her grandmother couldn't take it and discussed it with her husband about just letting Anna Molly stay with her Aunt Arleen until she would be sixteen.
Anna Molly was crushed, yet excited because she always loved the ocean. Her Aunt Arleen had no choice but to go ahead and take her to the ocean and let her free. So she took her and let her go. Surprisingly she saw her brother and started crying. Her brother saw this and told her to get in the water and would be able to hug her and explain the whole deal. As he was explaining, Anna Molly was coming in the water slowly. She was a little scared about what would happen. She saw the scales coming up more on her skin just up to her waist. Her mother came to her and told her it would be okay and that swimming would be easier when she was fully transformed. When her father was through explaining to his sister he turned his attention to his beautiful daughter. He rushed to hug her and told her that it was extremely hard to live so long without their daughter. Her Aunt Arleen slowly slipped away while they were coming back together as a family.
After a few hours, the transformation was complete and they swam back to their house in the ocean and lived together as a real family. Anna Molly fit right in with the people there and she became a huge social butterfly. She learned tons of things, yet she did miss her grandparents but she was happier where she was. She was her parents' biggest joy and she was happy that she finally gets to see them all the time and wouldn't go back ever. The End.
