"Not On My Own"

Not on my own...
Is how I wish to be,
In a room full of friends,
Surrounding me...

Is it too much to ask for?
Just a little love...
That's the question I ask,
Mainly to the man up above...

People call me a loner,
For I am always by myself...
As they say these things,
They don't know the pain that is felt...

I feel my life is slipping...
Through a hollow crack in the ground...
I search for a friend but with no one special in mind,
But there is a problem I come across, No one is around

Oblivion

Ornamented with purple flowers
obscure silhouette, unearthly,
rested above the spirals of clouds.
I cherished a frozen tear,
crucified between the spectacles,
for the last day of the Apocalypse
enacts behind the gates of Eden.

Ninth death echoed
within every grain of sand,
for our deity was a cat,
amphibious totem
spotted with the blood of demons.

Ornamented with purple flowers
obscure silhouette, unearthly,
poisoned thunderstorms of anathemas.
I succumbed to the last keystroke,
locked twixt the ghouls of a golden cage,
with chimeras that infected the abyss
smudged across your paradise.

Echoes

The rustle of forgotten words ring clear against the mind
The thunder of a heartbeat's song lies stripped and so unkind
A whisper verbrates in the soul then holds strong til the end
Unclosed upon the moon tonight and so in need of friends

A simple sound that rises high then sinks low in the wind
Comes now in solace whimpers for time to take and mend
The clash of mountains tarnished unstirred by winter's breeze
Resounds the cry of broken hearts and also broken dreams.

Against the moon we hide in fear the trueth of wishful souls
The many times we cried for love but lost our tightened hold
For life has dealt a hand of pain that seems so hard to face
It leaves our heart in echoes without light or without grace.

Still... sometimes in the heat of pain against the starry sky
We hear the sound of hope and faith that somehow gets us by
Another day we find the strength to face when all seems gone
Within the heart of echoes we rise up and carry on.

Squirm in murky lairs of hate --
gasping, suffocation, intoxication --
as the screams and bangs,
moans and whispers from beyond your walls
break through you, almost rhythmic,
but somehow too loud to take.
And she dances, dizzy,
as she wanders long corridors and longer halls,
not knowing where her feet took her but still following,
till she reached a corner and gagged.
As eyes shy away from it --
Rotting, decaying, chest heaving --
something that made for a female body.
And as I moved closer, I smiled,
just happy it wasn't a mirror reflection.
Selfish. She glares, rotting further,
her head tilting upward, questioning
if what she's faced wasn't enough.

Quiet, I only turn to follow
the red that escapes her feet,
to another room where
the echoes of his screams and anger
are more than what whispering walls can hold within.
While in another sits a muttering child,
breaking glass and lashing knives,
not knowing what they're for,
not knowing what he's for.
Her son, her son who knew not where he is.
And in part fear, part indifference
I scrambled back to where I was,
past the rocking chair that was never sat in,
yet rocked with the storm that brew inside.
I scrambled back, looking for light grilled wall to wall
that windows didn't let in.

And as fingers crawled, prodding, almost digging
trying to make the tiniest hole that would let me escape,
I found you, singing in the brightest shade of moonlight.
Your songs muffling the screams,
almost healing the wounds.
Almost... If only I could touch you,
if only I could sleep in your arms and forget
the colors that stained the world.
Forget the dark puddles they swam in,
laced with oil, brushing only the surface,
but the surface is all thats ever seen; ugly.
And as I sob for the very first time,
I wished the walls that made this feeble home
would crumble...

If I read this post correctly, there is still one more slot for "Hold me" correct? So I would love more than anything to take that last slot.

Through all these torn emotions I believe,
Love will find it's way to the surface,
With arms to wrap tightly around her,
I will become closer to her heart,
Passionately I will convey my love,
Until she sees how broken I've become,

But what is a broken soul to become?
So far gone it's lost the will to believe,
And what is this passion called love?
Broken inside but beautiful on the surface,
So why do I try to open up my heart?
Everything inside of me is screaming for her,

All I've ever wanted was someone like her,
She's the person I wish I could become,
So beautiful with such a kind heart,
Always confidant with the will to believe,
Passion inside but nothing on the surface,
The girl in which I want to fall in love,

But who am I to try to fall in love?
I'm not beautiful and kind like her,
Does it matter what's on the surface?
I'm full of potential in which I'll become,
So what am I refusing to believe?
That I could truly be pure of heart,

We're both keeping feelings at heart,
Trying our hardest not to fall in love,
We're both lacking the will to believe,
Misunderstanding that it's not me and her,
We're both failing to see what we'll become,
That two people is shown only on the surface,

So these tears will run down my surface,
As she holds me tightly against her heart,
Intertwined as the lovers we have become,
Holding tighter as I whisper, "I'm in love"
Now it will never be just "me" and "her",
As we hold on to what we want to believe,

What we've become is one on the surface,
Always believing she'll hold on to my heart,
And that my love will only be for her...

Good poems

I think I should withdraw. =( I don't want to but I'm having trouble finishing it. I've started writing this about a half a dozen ways and I finally found the right approach I want but I can't seem to finish it. Thanks for letting me be in the competition tho and extending it for as long as you did <3
