Prop H8

As some of you are aware, Proposition 8 was passed in California which makes gay marriage illegal.
Not only is that disgusting but a guy (Mark) I've talked to a few times was arrested.

Thanks to various online communities the debt from that has been paid, now there is just legal fees.

It's disgusting, it makes me sick. Mark is a sweetheart who would never hurt someone without a cause.

I don't understand why people don't just grow up and get past the fact that two men or two women can be in love with eachother?? What is really so wrong with that because last time I checked we're both human beings. It's so sad that people are getting arrested over their FEELINGS. That's something that you can't control, you love who you love, nothing can change that & there is nothing wrong with it.

I think that people need to realize that today is a new day. Where we do things that no one in their right minds would of thought of like 50 years ago. IT sort of seems to be like Freedom of SPeech or feelings is prohibited now. People need to grow up, its a civil rites issue.

I found out that churches told ppl yes on 8 when they weren't suppose to. Churches are not allowed to chose a side in politics and for tht they hav a special tax free because of it. If they are going to choose a side then they should be taken away the tax free bail..

Three separate churches donate money, it's crazy, stupid.

I totally agree. That just goes to show that Church && State are all to close.

I'm still so angry that Mark got arrested. adfkhasd;hf, $20 000 is a LOT of money.

Sexual attraction between a man and a woman is not unnatural.
It is just not accepted to be natural by close minded individuals.

Have you even been so in love with someone you've wanted to share everything? It is NOT just about lust, it's exactly the same, EXACTLY the same as a man and a woman being together.

Why would we? That's stupid. Love is love, attraction is attraction. I've not met one gay person who would discriminate against someone because of their sexuality, whatever it may be.

This thread is about Mark being arrested, not a gay and straight debate, move along.

Im glad to live in New Zealand where the gay community have come a long way in the last 40 years. Gay couples are much the same as hetrosexual couples and should be treated as such. Until people can remove the need to control and try to run the way others live then the prejudice will remain.

&& Carrotgirl, you are lucky to live in such a community. The US is supposed to be so "advanced" look at us. People hate that our new Pres is black, they hate that men && women are gay/bi, if your the slighest bit different you are hated && sometimes beaten or worse.. Why does everything have to revolve around hatred && cruelty.

Because people that have not taken the time to open their eyes and look around. Therefore they decide that difference is bad and therefore needs to be stopped through violence. Its the same with gangs. Someone has a different view, you get in an arguement, and whats next? Oh lookie, we have a gang war. Whoopie! -.- I'm so sick of these idiots judging others before getting to know them. Its wrong, purely wrong, there is no other word. Its just so.. wrong. I hold myself accountable for, because
it was very late when I wrote my post
and can see where she got what she did.

However, the point I was trying to
make, in quick summary, is that
I will never understand discrimination
of any kind. People are people are people,
and we should not be so highly judged by
just parts of our lives.

I hope everything in Marks situation works
itself out, I am sure he is a wonderful guy,
and does not deserve this at all.

Sadly it seems that is becoming more and more true now a days. The world truly has degraded itself over the years... seriously, this argument over who you can love and marry?? WHO'S decision is it? Personally, i believe no one should decide that. Its not our responsibility, just let someone live their life how they want to, wouldn't ANYONE wish for the same? I don't get why that is so hard for so many people to understand.

There is a quote i would like to add, i forgot the author:
"If you fall in love with a man, you fall in love with a man, the fact that many Americans consider it a disease says more about them then it does about homosexuality" I love that. Its so true.
