We reached a decision

I am going to delete two threads regarding racism. There is just way to much editing to be done and it will be easier to delete the threads.

Everyone that is involved in fueling the fire, egging on the drama, and choosing to be part of the problem instead of the solution will receive two penalty points.

There is one individual who crossed the line beyond leniency and that individual account will be suspended.

Many of you will not like our decision, but it is how we as a team have chosen to react to the situation and we feel that it is fair. Everyone for the most part is being treated equally across the board and receiving the same consequences for his or her actions.

I have a question. What happens if people delete their account and then come back to the site... Do their penalties from the previous account get reinstated?

I`m not referring to people 'suspended' only those who delete the accounts and come back...

Once you delete your account your penalties are gone.

Even when you reinstate...

Oh really? I mean if I accumulated say 8 penalty points then deleted. I'd be back at square 1? I don't know about that one... it's an easy way for some members to play the system...

To expand upon my answer to Amanda's question...

We keep a running thread in the mod forum of who we have penalized and why.... we started doing this because people would delete their accounts and then come back and all penalties erased.

This way we can keep track and manually suspend them if the need arises.

By supporting your country you are not being racist. You are supporting YOUR country. Now if she had an icon that said Israel rot in ----- or what ever then yes, but that is not the case.

If another mod deems it inappropriate then so be it, but I find no offense to it.

Let some one tell me that I can not support my country and see how well that goes over.

Good decision. I'm not sure why Bob's account is missing (unless it's an accumulation of penalties or he suspended himself), but Illuminati definitely deserved the boot, the steel-capped kind, if the impression I have is correct.

Considering it was just changed after everything that happened... I can see exactly why it'd be considered offensive.

Hellon. Bob has told me he gives me permission to say he was suspended. If the mods want to talk to bob he did give me permission. He said his account reached the max penalty points when the points were given out to all those involved in this 'heated' thread. (Which I thought were reserved for severe infractions, when points would suspend someone that is. I didn't see the threads so can't say how bad things got or just how 'sever' his words were. but alas it was deleted. )

I never said the timing was good. However, the icon itself is not racist.

I do not see how the Avatar is remotely racist.
Nor would be an avatar that read "Israel I'm for you."

Given the timing it may be in bad taste, but not racist.

I agree with Sher and Larry,

I do not find the avatar offensive in the least or "racist" in any way, I see it as a means to show ones support for their country and there is nothing wrong with showing ones support for their country, nor having pride in their country.

I agree on the avatar not being offensive as well.

I have watched the discussion these past few days without saying anything. I can understand the anger and frustration of the people who live in the Arab countries very well, but this site is for ALL people, all people from all nations have the right to join and should feel welcome...always bear in mind that it is the governments that take decisions and their people who have to obey that suffer the consequences. We are all human, we are all children of one God, and should try and find the things that binds us, instead of the things that divide us.

Please do not use these words to stir up another discussion, my message is just this: try and love your neighbour, try and see he is just a human being, just like you. You can pm me if you want to respond to this.

I wouldn't be offended if someone wrote a hate poem about my country or my people. I would be disappointed in their ignorance and anger, and hope eventually they will come to a sounder understanding of our differences. I'm afraid I'm torn about the poem submitted to Nor & Mel's competition. It's too bad someone needed to write something negative to sour the fun for everyone, but I'm not sure they've broken a rule.
