Whatever Happened To...

Ronel McCarthy?
I was enjoying her poetry, and now she is gone.

I wondered too. Here are some clues:

This account at another website, likely hers, also shows no poems if you check the stats button, last visit 2-8-11. It seems the author voluntarily removed the poems there as well.

Will the PnQ FBI (stalking team) hire me for tracking their lost one's? What do you think kiko?

I don't know about the FBI, but Stalkers Anonymous might.

Larry: There is a difference between "stalking" and "researching"....you know the difference better, but I like your comment, coming from experience of a legal professional :)

Stalking=
Stalking is a term commonly used to refer to unwanted and obsessive attention by an individual or group to another person. Stalking behaviors are related to harassment and intimidation and may include following the victim in person and/or monitoring them. The word stalking is used, in psychology and psychiatry and also in some legal jurisdictions as a term for a criminal offense.

Researching= Scholarly or scientific investigation or inquiry.

I do not really recall her poems, but remember vaguely from some comments and reading a nominated poem.

So if you were the prosecutor, and I was the defender, I will blow your argument apart, as my observations were from a post-hoc analysis. Also, I do have job/field satisfaction, and do not have any intent to seek a career in being a "stalker" or a "criminalist", which the mod group as a whole should be really very good at, to retain their jobs :)

Addendum: This play of words reminds me as to how close these 2 words (researcher & stalker) are conceptually to 2 other words with similar implications: "compulsive" & "obsessive".

A researcher, by analogy is a compulsive individual, who pursues an area of interest in a scholarly manner to find answers, in science, arts or any field.

A stalker, by analogy is an obsessed individual who pursues his/her victim relentlessly, without regard to social norms, often to the point of visible embarassment and harassment to that person.

I think I did a better job at picking these 2 close words apart in Lioness's winning poem "The Number Six" here:

The Poetess is gone too... She's not replied to my message. Hoppe she's ok in Syria..

Am on my phone and can't really.search easily, is her account totally gone? Last I saw she hadn't checked in in a while, and I've been hearing more and more about the protests and fighting over there. That's scary :/

No sure what happened to Ronel...Maybe Karla could help with this?

Me too Abed, I miss her and this stuff thats happening in Syria looks scary as hell. Everytime I see it on the news, I worry bout her.

As for Ronel, I'm sorry I'm not of use..

More than 25 dead people everyday... and it's just getting worse.

We just can't think that way, and pray for her and her family's safety.

I hope she's doing well.

Don't give up on Noura, she's resilient.

Guys, you can't believe how much I have missed the community! I am so sorry for being inactive. I have been spending my time in the hospitals doing some kind of voluntary stuff for injured people here in syria. For the citizens who have been injured by those gangs and some of military forces. I have missed you guys. Sir Larry, I am like a cat, with nine lives!

Is there any new rule or change? I have been used to see new stuff over here.
