^^^^ we meet @ some point down the road.

a very famous quote that I keep telling to my self

The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish

Holy smoke does that mean atrocities are wider spread then Uganda?
Or," I really should have gone outside more often when I was young"
Or, "I knew I should have bought that set of encyclopedias" Or,

Why no inquiries to, what does the United Nations do for a living besides try to remove Israel from the face of the earth?

If Emily was here I could almost hear ranting about what is the fuss about united Hiatians and posting actual proof of the atrcitise they endure under their Government
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jan/20/haiti-earthquake-teenager-shot-police

She might be confused about the fuss about indivisible children and say what other hope do they have but to stay together until they are old enough to die for their contry and everybody elses too

    KCAL Ch 9 : Broadcast 3-10-12, 10.10pm :

    - Showed a 14-16 yr old Ugandan child on study scholarship (sponsored by Invisible children) interviewing in Orange county to media. Very difficult to state how much was genuine. The handlers did not allow direct questioning or 1:1 meeting with the press. It seems it was a pre-prepared speech. Very little facts if any.
They were taking pledges, selling bracelets and DVD's to raise money.
    - Newscaster mentioned these numbers which reaffirmed what was already published:

In 2011, the charity took in 13.8 million $
    -Spent (Expenses/salaries) 8.9 million $
    - Sent to Africa.................. 3.3 million $ (23.91%)

i.e less than a quarter of each $ collected.

No I am not a devil's advocate, just "discerning", isn't there a fine line between the two?

Michael, you posted this link of a girl whose family still lives in Uganda, found it revealing, as to how concerned the natives are on this issue now vs. the non-natives (us):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DO73Ese25Y&feature=youtu.be

Kony was first active 22 yrs ago, Kony and LRA were driven out from Northern Uganda in 2005, whereabouts unknown. LRA is still active in Sudan, CAR and Congo, but it is unclear if KONY the founder is a part of it. Sure, he may be living somewhere, and is now the #1 terrorist for crimes against humanity, but I suspect that this charity can do very little, if anything at all to get him, other than popularize his myth, if he still exists and is still active/alive.

Sometimes it pays to be a skeptic, when 2+2 do not equal 4 .

Yes, I fully support the cause of rehab'ing any children affected, but would rather see Amnesty International and Children's organizations do the job, than a organization that spends its dollars largely on marketing to social media and politicians. And definitely, I do not want to support any charity whose monies go to militaries and militias, in particular Ugandan, whose history and character is tainted from the Idi Amin days. I believe in saving lives not in killing people when it comes to supporting charities and their aims.

And yes, I was robbed out of a few hundred dollars cash in my wallet at gunpoint (an assault rifle pointed at me when I resisted) by Kenyan (a neighboring nation) military/emigration officials manning the Nairobi airport, when taking a flight out after a brief visit in the mid-1980's as a student. Uganda was even worse then, both in the Idi Amin and the post-Idi-Amin era.

That must have been terrifying? Did they back off when you handed over the cash?

They simply emptied my wallet as it came through the security X-ray scanner, as I watched helplessly. When I asked for my money back, as I had none left, the guys in the military uniform pointed their muzzle at me and told me to turn around and walk to the gate or else I will be detained. I did not question them. I think that was a time when there was somme sort of uprising from the tribals and the military was everywhere, gun toting the streets.
But, not to dissuade, the 3 National wildlife parks in Kenya, 2 of which are shared with Uganda are spectacular. Will remind you of Born Free, Forever Free and like movies. I will go back someday to see the parks, but this time preferably when there is peace and quiet and most likely in a group.
