Hm. A ...debate?

Hey guys,

I have been hearing so much about those people who can talk to a dead...... what was their name again? Anyway, I have just lost my father and we kinda have some ...unfinished business and I have been missing him so much and I want to reach to him somehow. Some friends told me that it works sometimes spiritually. What do you think? Is it all just nonsense? Or there does exist a connection between our world and theirs?

Feel free to voice your opinion and you can stray from my question or issue. You can bring up any religious discussion or anything. Just be respectful to any point of view.

not to be rude or anything.... that's just none sense.... nobody knows about the world of the dead...

* though of course, who wouldn't like to have at least one conversation with someone he/she has lost..

Noura, I could ask a friend about the site name of a medium he knows. You can join there and she can make contact with people who are on the other side, but it is not for free, you have to pay her.

It is up to you if you would really want this...I know he was taken from you without you two being able to say goodbye.

I do have time to say goodbye to my father now and I have told him that once he has died, I will allow his spirit to go to heaven. I do not want to make him stay around us here on earth, but for him to be completely free to be in heaven, with the other souls who have crossed the threshold. Maybe if you were to know he is at peace, that you will find peace too?

The fact is that unfinished business can drive a person for years.

My own dad died before I could get to him & much was left between us. It has taken me years to reconcile myself to what might have been.

There's no question that you will have this issue on your plate for a great many years.

On the other hand, I hope you will listen to those, like Abed, who will try to protect you from spending your efforts, and money, in fruitless avenues.

Whatever the dead know or do or wherever they go, this seamless universe we are in is where you reside and where you will need to make your peace.

We who love you are here for you and whatever you want to discuss. Please accept us and our love before running to charlatans who do not know you but who will tell you what you want to hear in order to collect.

Take your time and if u believe that going to someone who most probably will fake and Pretend his conversation with the dead will make you feel better in anyway then what the heck, u might as well try it

These folks are called psychics, past life therapists, regression therapists, etc...the latter 2 are hypnotists. My aunt, an MD psychiatrist, has been practicing the latter 3, outside her scientific field, for over 35 yrs. Unfortunately, there is very little credible proof that they really have any powers to contact the dead or our deceased loved ones. Some people find comfort in talking to spirits (if they exist at all?) through them.

About 25 years ago, when I visited her, I asked her for proof. She video's every session. I watched many of her videos, and came away with the conclusion that the only people who could be hypnotized (and were able to be regressed) were gullible, simple and "mental" folks, and a lot of them were being led on by the suggestible line of questioning and answering by the therapist (my aunt in this case, who is a good clinical hypnotist). However, when I asked her to regress me and take me back to my past life, she was unable to hypnotize me, despite several tries. We had a good laugh about it, and she admitted that the strong willed are hard to hypnotize. In any case after watching the videos of her patients, I was unconvinced, being a critical analyst of voodoo methods. She has written 2 books on this subject and her experiences, and at best I will requote the words of my colleague who read one of them..." this is one heck of a crazy book..must be a crazy person who wrote it".....but not to undermine their effort, we as rationale people have difficulty relating to the psychic world and their (science). So be discretionary, and not gullible.

I enjoyed the movie "Hugo" last night with my son...perhaps you will too. The character of this orphaned kid who lives within the walls of a train station in Paris of the 1930's has the strength and resolve that certainly moved me.

It is a matter of beleif I guess. In many faiths and practices, talking to the dead is an art form praticly. I dont buy in the side road psyhcic or "Seer" has some are called. My faith teaches that the dead will contact you in one way or another, dreams are the most common but sometimes they use other ways.

If there is a way to contact the other side, it would have been common enough that you wouldn't have even needed to ask about it.

Life doesn't work like that, or else things would be much easier, especially with unfinished businesses!

You are still young, but it will get easier with time and you will see the bigger picture, you will have to learn how to sort things on your own, how to make decisions, how to live with your longings and eager.

I have been there, and I understand you very well. Especially when I was your age, I actually took it really bad, though it was not something that has shocked me or happened unexpectedly but just his death and absence were facts that I could not deal with for a certain while, actually at a certain level.

Save your money, save your energy, save your emotions and save yourself from disappointments that you are NOT in need of.

You are already dealing with heartaches, why to subject yourself and soul to things that would make you suffer the more it doesn't work. You should dig in the other side, which is yourself, being at peace with yourself, to adapt with your new life (somehow, someway) and we are ALL here to support you.

I used to keep a photo of him under my pillow, when I was younger by few years, I talked like he could reply me, insane a little bit, but when I used to ask or talk, it helped me think and flip the thoughts inside my head. If you know what I mean. I stopped doing that, not because I gave up, or because I grew up, I just gained life experiences that I find solutions in a short period of time when facing issues.

However...Call me to nag, call me to vent, cry, shout, whatever! To find solutions, to think with you, I am sure we will be there for you, all of us.

Mediums are all fakes deary, don't get involved in thinking they can contact your loved ones.

Also, anyone who says that says that the contacting the dead thing is bs, I respect your beleif, but I would ask that you respect mine, please use other terms like, I dont think its posible, unless you can prove its impositble than by all means, enlighten me. Opinions are just opinions untill facts back it up.

Alright, let's say there's no way we can talk to a dead, is it correct that they can hear us? Like I just need to tell him things that I might not feel comfortable confessing in front of some magician... Can he or any other dead hear me?

Whether or not he can hear You is beyond anyone's actual knowledge.

Speak your heart to him, for even if you don't know, he may be listening.

There will always be a part of him listening from within you. He will speak to you in your dreams.

I think if you need to tell your dad anything, Noura, or if you want him to send you some sort of guidance down from heaven, all you have to do is feel it in your heart. He's a part of you and he's still there; breathing with you, seeing with you, loving you...
It's not just misleading getting caught up in mediums and psychics, it's emotionally draining, probably very disappointing, and surely heartbreaking. It could give you some kind of unrealistic hope that won't turn into anything.
Better to come to grips with the loss of your father in this world, with a respectful separation of life and death (or life and afterlife).
I guess what I mean is - The loss is between you and those who knew your father, or those who know you and care about you. The loss is most of all between you and yourself. Don't involve those trying to make a profit off grief.

I used to rarely pray. Now I am praying every morning and before sleep. Hope that makes him comfortable up there.

A friend of mine lost her boyfriend in a car accident, and she has been going to the place he died and doing stuff with vapour and the hair of animals, perchance he comes back. He hasn't yet. I think it's silly.

Maybe I'm just too desperate.
