100th Birthday

Hello Everyone!

My Grandmother is getting ready to celebrate her 100th Birthday on October 26th, 2016.

Her Son Billy (Fisherman) is a member of this site as well as myself Andrea Maple Tree (Her youngest Grandchild).

I asked Grandma what she would like for her Birthday and she said and I quote "I want 100 cards please" then she giggled.. as if that would never happen, well I feel it will happen!

If any of you wonderful members would like to send her a Birthday Card, please message me and I will give you the address.

You can put on the Card of how you know Me if you like example: Fellow Poet Member of your Granddaughter Andrea Maple Tree or just a plain Birthday wish will do...

The Assisted Living House (Where she resides) Is helping me with this Birthday surprise as well... We have volunteers who are going to be gathering weekly to read her these beautiful cards the entire month of October, so lets make this a wonderful 100th Birthday!!

It would be useful to know what she likes, so i can personalise a card. Can you list a few of her favourites things?
My Gran liked Scottish heather and the colour Green.

She is a artist, she painted water color and charcoal drawings and was an art teacher for years. She loves all colors!

She is a huge! Liberochi (?) Fan...he was a pianist

She loves ice cream and wild flowers!!!!! She sewed all of my dresses as a child.....just a beautiful lady and is a good Grandma to me, except she doesn't like me living in New York it worries her....but I reassure her daily that I'm doing fine

She has received 5 cards already. The volunteer is coming in today to read them to her....95 to go :-)

What a lovely idea. My gran died 6 months before her 100th so I never got the chance to get a card ( or present) for her. Sending a card to yours will be a kind of tribute to mine so I would love it if you would pm me her address.

Hello Everyone,
Just a quick update: as of yesterday grandma has received 30 cards so far..they are being read to her by volunteers and the activities department. Closer to her birthday they will be hung up in her room and then I will be able to post a photo. She is enjoying the cards, thank you to everyone for joining in on this special day!

She has 3 weeks until the big day...very exciting!

Grandma is up to 70 cards, her birthday is next Tuesday. I would like you to keep her in your thoughts please, she was admitted with pneumonia this morning to the hospital...the nurses are trying to prepare me for the worse case scenario...I will be flying to ks, this weekend... she's loving the cards everyone, thank you again....I'll keep you posted

She is making the nurses giggle and reacting well to the antibiotics.. She is one strong cookie! She told me "I have a birthday to celebrate, I gotta get out of here <3

I was due to go back for the holidays, so I have rescheduled my trip... My Grandmother is proving the nurses and Dr's wrong.. she's not going anywhere <3
