Six word memoirs!

Hey! So I had a flashback to my high school creative writing class where we wrote our own six word memoirs. I loved this challenge as it can be inspiring and an exercise in brevity.

Many of is know the famous one by Ernest Hemingway "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

Here are some others I found online:

"After cancer, I became a semicolon." - Anthony Cardno

"Family portrait: everyone smiles but me." - Ian Baaske

"Found on Craigslist: table, apartment, fiance." - Becki Lee

"Out of wine, nuns went mad." - brunokim (reddit)

"Axe falling, the rooster crows, "Wait!"' - bugloaf (reddit)

    "Freeze! Don't move!"
    "I'm just..."
    "BANG!"
    - iliococcygeus (reddit)

Lia, that is haunting, and something that usually isn't said. As depression can bring people to such a dark, isolated place. I read it as a fight that you are alive, alive in spite of depression, that even if you don't want to keep trying, you refuse to let it win. Keep fighting the good fight, friend.

Here's a silly one for the moment:

Baxter barked and barked, til dawn.

Aw, so cute. My puppy's name is Baxter and he barks for, like, any reason. There are people walking down the street, he barks. The wind blows, he barks. A bird is flying outside, he barks.

    Here's one from me:
I'm fat. I ate all that.

    Nice, everybody!

Inspired by Lia's one about depression:

Depression - being loved by a predator.

I just reread your initial post, MA, and I totally missed the point. I thought we were writing 6 word stories, not personal memoirs. Let me try this again.

Sob into my hands. Smile. Repeat.
