    Depth by Michael

What a beautifully written piece, capturing the
subtlety of depression in such a imagery-rich poem.
I think the first stanza alone convinced me this poem is
worthy of a ’10 vote’, the imagery of a storm being
contained to a tea-cup that likely no one else but the
one drinking the cup of tea notices is a perfect description
    of depression. (10 points)

Nothing ventured nothing gained (Palindrome) by Michael

First of all, I don’t get it how someone can write something
like this. Just after reading this, I tried writing two sentences that
can read the same forward and backwards and I failed.
The form makes me feel like I’m lost in a loop, then that adds
so many layers to the poem. The feeling of emptiness then because
of that lost, then after that not belonging. Feeling like everything isn’t
in the right place, but that doesn’t make sense. Trying to get out of this
spiral but nothing is working. Love this! (10 points)

a slither and a dream by Star

The imagery in this piece is outstanding, there’s so many quotable
lines from this piece in my opinion but the part that still stuck with
me, long after reading is ‘your heart pounding/in your palm and with
the other one/you try to respirate yourself’. It’s perfectly situated
between being descriptive of sound and vivid imagery, it’s almost
    like a 3D experience. (7 points)

    Dancing With Demons by Kate

There’s something about this that reminds me of a poem
I wrote, which made me relate to it. The wording is so
beautiful yet dark, which brings out the emotions really
    well. (7 points)
    -------------------------------
    sensitivity by Skyfire

What I love about this is the simple wording, that carries
the simile a very long way. As I’m getting older, I’ve been noticing
I’m becoming more sensitive but in a different way
I can control what I show of it unlike when I was younger. Reading
this made me realize something really important, maybe this is happening
because now I can differentiate from what is danger and what’s not, getting
wiser and knowing when to take action. Thank you for sharing this.

    Upon Shooting Stars by Kate

This being an acrostic for soulmates is just so sweet.
Such a sweet expression of love. (4 points)

Congratulations Michael on your double win (no mean feat) and Star for your win. All excellent worthy wins. Also well done to Kate and Skyfire for your HMs. Huge thanks to the judges but their volunteering there wouldn't be such lovely feedback for the winners and to Meena for hosting. Milly x
