I sent money...actually I do almost everyday. People are on the streets collecting money...Firefighters and other volunteers.

I work right next to Publix and they accept donations as well...everyday I donate my change from lunch. Nothing more I can do except pray for them...

No other communities have the magnitude of suffering that has been placed on the people afflicted by Hurricane Katrina right now. These are our own fellow Americans and they deserve our compassion and help.

dont even talk about suffering they had a warning but the government sent no transportation to evacuate most people dont have cars in new orleans. red cross trucks were actually on the border but couldn't go in because bush said they didn't need help even tho the mayor and governor said they needed it. i mean russian, china, canada, and even thailand offered to send help and bush said no. i mean, shit, come on thailand offering to help the most powerful country. even afganistan offered to help you know the country america bombed the shit out of in search of bin ladden. but bush said no to everyone. just want to say Real great job on voting.

I agree with you Bob. I never really looked at it that way, i guess you don't realize there is a problem unless it's plastered all over the news, i mean, i live in a small city in atlantic Canada and you walk uptown and there are homeless people all over the streets with nothing to eat, but i guess they don't deserve our attention, just the people in New Orleans that the news stations are making millions of dollars off of. You can't pick and choose who you help. Don't get me wrong, i feel bad for the people suffering as a result of the hurricaine, but they're not the only ones that deserve our attention, people are dying everyday in our own community, but you don't see the government rushing to their sides. Anyway, i guess i've been pretty oblivious , maybe i'll try to open my eyes a little more often and see the big picture, not just the 27 inch screen in the middle of my living room.

    Peace

Of course our lives are controled by media. Look at what people are wering now..*ABRECROMBIE SAID IT WAS COOL!* The media tells us what to do, when to do it, how to do it. DOES ANYONE THINK FOR THEMSELVES ANYMORE? or course not, the edia will do it for you, and tell you how to do it!

    Haha...

Emily, how do you know that Bush bites? Did you personally meet up with him at dinner or did the MEDIA pass on this information to you?

    Just a thought...
