    Hey girl....
Nothing wrong with being a housewife ..... I once worked 5 days a week up until a few weeks ago ...now I work about 2 ...
My kids need help with school work and a decent meal on the table... My kids deserve the attention and money is not everything ...
I would rather live comfortably and have my family close by every night than to live high on the hog and never see them ....
If that is what you want to do ...then you just do it...
You might want to make sure that the man you are with agrees and if you are still in school I'd advise staying in and maybe taking a few coarse at home to farther your education ...
Because if something does happen ex: husband leaves ...death ect... you want to able to provide for your family if needed ...

but it's hard to be a housewife and look after you children if you don't have a husband who can provide enough income to support the family

That's true but you can take in babysitting .... sell crafts or other products at home to help contribute to the family (while staying at home )

I make and sell gift baskets from my own home which doesn't make us rich but helps pay some of the smaller bills .... we aren't rich by any means but we do live comfortably ...
And with internet there are so many other ideas you can come up with..

You go be a housewife. The chances of your marriage lasting will double; nay, quadruple. Let the career women scoff as they die to earn the extra dollar and indulge in that little 'harmless affair at work and then wonder where their fucking marriage went to in ten years time. Basic values is what is needed. And if this is what you want, I applaud you girl!!!

    You don't ♥ cereal. You ♥ poop.

I couldn't be a housewife. I think it'd be a lot more boring than that TV show where there are people in the basement and tons of hot people to fuck.

Unless you keep lots of hot people to fuck in the basement.

    I'd be a housewife then.

Ele, I think that being a housewife or stay-at-home mom is as admirable as any other occupation. I have had experience both ways. But before kids reach school age I think it is much better for their mother to be with them than to place the kids under someone else's care so that Mom can be out working.

Just don't let anything or anyone stand in the way of your goals and never give up on your dreams.

Looking just at the surface, I think I'd like it. Looking after the kids, getting to see them grow up, being at home most of the time (I'm not very outdoorsy)

BUT, then i have to clean up, help with homework, yell when they do something bad... I dunno, I get pissed off easily, I think I need a house husband and I'll work for a living.

Or I could be like Gabrielle, marry a rich dude, laze around doing nothing and refuse to have kids :) Maybe, a hot yard guy will fall in love with me and propose...

First of all, I live overseas and we JUST now got the first season of Desperate Housewives (which I absolutely ADORE) on my Showtime satellite and you guys are ruining it for me so stop telling all the secrets about dead people in basements and yard guys proposing, lol!

Anyway, being a housewife is a great ambition and a lot of hard work! I was watching Dr. Phil the other day and he mentioned that some researchers recently did a study showing that housewives (with small children) actually do an equivalent of two full time jobs. So it's not just lounging around in front of soap operas all day doing nothing. It's cooking, cleaning, errands, changing diapers, and that's all before your husband and school aged kids come home. Then it's serving dinner, dishes, helping with homework, and tons more.

    Housewives, I applaud you.

I always tell my girlfriend she belongs in a kitchen...It's a joke don't worry.
She slaps me, then I say don't waste your hands on me get cooking.
It's quite fun to torment women about being housewives.
I don't see anything wrong with it.
Someone has to take care of kids.
    Why not their mom?
Personally I could never see my girlfriend ever being a housewife, she's worse then a guy.

    Taylor:

There is a price for a woman having a career over a family; or, indeed, a career first and family second. Look at the stats. I'm not gonna rant about it here.

Also, the temptation of the archetypal 'affair' is extremely prominant in the 'career getters'. Example. You are down. You are stressed. before you know it you're undressed. Think.

but do you think i should bother goin to uni an gettin a degree next year cuz i really dont wanna go? everyones tryin to pressure me to go sayin ill regret it if i dont but i think ill regret payin at leasr £11,200 tuition plus accomodation and all necessaties, for a career i dont want when im hoping to already have kids by the time i would be finishing it. i could still work part-time after my kids start goin to school, i enjoy workin in the corner shop and i would have no problem with that

If you have the choice, go for the education. And I say that for a lot of good reasons. It will enrich your life no matter what you choose to do later on. Aren't there any alternatives for obtaining a higher education without having to pay out £11,200 + as you say?
