Serious question

Is there anyone on this site that is better, or prefers math/maths than english/ writing?

Just a theory that people who prefer words are crap at math/s

I hate math/s and don't find anything interesting in the whole field of numbers.

    How about you?

For the first time Mel, I actually agree with you. I hate maths, I usually forget the simple understanding of how to find out the area of a triangle.

It is not fun as well. Strangly my sister loves it. So ce la ve.

I agree too... at school I was generally good at maths, but only through constant advice and practice (I HATED it!). 3 years on and I am terrible, even the simplest of questions takes me ages to figure out, yet my English has naturally come on in leaps and bounds.

My cousin loves maths and is about to start her degree - her English is awful. Take from that what you will :)

Really Beyond, because you seem like a person who would find the equation of life, if he was given a good intellectual debate, which is like sex to you.

But my perceptions are wrong...As always...

Or maybe I am talking about myself...Lol. Maybe.

If 'beyond' is a libra free ice cream to me!
(I don't neccesarily belive in uh horoscropes or whatever but Linda Goodman's Sunsigns book is addictive...lol)

Right where are we.... Aah yes, maths bores the flipping hell out of me. I think if you are naturally bright and are good at just about everything then it doesn't make much difference, but I don't know anyone who loves both maths and english.

I'm good at both, and I like both subjects...

Though if I ever had to choose between Calculus and English, you better believe i'd pick English.

    english is Math.

In the same way that music is Math...EVERYTHING IS MATH.

And i'm good at everything so i'm good at math.

I could be better at being modest maybe.

Yeah i'm good at English, get really high grades etc, but am useless at maths! I managed 2 only just scrape a C in my exam ... whereas in English I got an A ... Numbers just confuse me. And I don't really see when I am going to use algebra again - im not playing to be an architect or anything so I wouldn't need it!

I don't like or dislike math. It's just there. I don't find it overtly difficult, but I wouldn't sit down and do a bunch of math problems, just for fun.

Wow I neber thought of it that way before. You are completely correct. I'm not good at math at all. Its use to be my favorite subject but as years went by I started to get worse at it. That is about the only suject that confuses me to no end. I understand basics and everything but explanding on that...well thats just confusing. haha!

But yes I agree with you, I don't dislike math yet I don't particularily enjoy it either.

Most people are dominantly either Right or Left brained. It is not a phenomenon.

I'd disagree with you... I'm a huge fan of mathmatics, that's why I entered marine engineering, at the same time i love the english language thus, i write poems.... but then again, i'm unique and maybe an exception... but I do not agree with you

    Mmmm,

Even talk of maths switches me off like a lightbulb.

    Lessons in people watching #1

Notice the type of people into maths and compare them with the people who are into English.

    What were your observations.
