Meeeee! ..*cough* not really. But I like christina Aguilera. She has one song she wrote called 'I'm Okay' And everytime I hear it I cry lol. And in the song, you can actually hear her starting to cry as she's singing. Cause it was written about her father abusing her and her mother.. So ye-eah!

Im gonna have to say Marilyn Manson just because I've really sat down and listened to his songs and i have to say he's good at what he does.

He's not the only one!!! Theres so many! Lennon is another that comes to mind and I have to agree when people say Kurt Cobain, I love those songwriters :)

Modern day I'd say Beck is the most original song writer.

Hetfield and Ulric made great albums from Kill 'em all to Load even St Anger is cathartic in a good healthy way.

Chris Cornell writes the best introspective pieces.

Dave Grohl has done a great job from credits on most neo-Nirvana albums through the latest Foo album.

For me one good song doesn't a great songwriter make, but a writer who can keep coming up with the goods whilst living with the pressures of stardom and fame (infamy).

am i the only one that sees that kurt cobain wasnt all that great. he was able to own the radio but his guitar work was mediocre at best. His lyrics were good but never breath taking. personally i cant listen to his nevermind album all the way through without getting bored.
