The new "trend".

I have noticed with a lot of teens lately, being bisexual has become something of a "Trend". There are kids saying "oh, yeah, im bisexual" but actually are appalled at the thought of any contact with the same sex. I don't know what my point is. Just a bit of a vent.

  • Sarah Ann

Hm, I haven't noticed that. I noticed that many teens are turning out Bi, and they really don't mind the 'trend'...infact most find it quite appealing. I don't, but anyway, that's my opinion.

Why is everyone elses sexual preferences or experimentations any of your concern?
So what if it is a fad, your the one with the issue if you let it bother you so much...

Teenagers will do anything to fit in with the crowd.. if it takes sleeping or having relationships with the same sex.. you bet your booty.. that they will do it.

did you ever think they actually are bi and it is you that are ignorant? why do you even care?

  • Bret Higgins

*shrugs* I say stuff is gay all the time. But then I don't mean it to mean homosexual or lesbian, I mean it to mean stupid.

Now you may think that makes me out of line, but when my homosexual mate says it too, I firmly believe that the boundaries are dropped.

Watch Shawn of the Dead and you'll instantly know the context I mean.

If kids want to be bi, f*** 'em, let them be bi, it's better than having them smoke crack or crystal meth. *grins*

I have gay friends, that are generally gay. Most "bisexual" people I know, though, are in fact follwoing a trend. It doesn't "bother me" Eibutsina, I just thought to make a point and see if anybody else has noticed that. No need to be so rude.

    Poetess & Screenplay - Exactly.

    Tia - Yeah i agree.

Bret - LOl great film :P

    Gemma - Exactly :P Heh.

I'm not talking about the ewhole world here- just that ive noticed a LOT of people around where I lie are now becoming apparently bisexual.

  • donna

I don't think it's a 'trend' as such, I think it is more acceptable nowadays so people don't hide what sexuality they are as much.. Most people I know that are straight would never turn around and say I'm Bi, just to fit in.. I may not be a teenager but do have teenage kids, and they have a lot of friends, and I have never heard any of them say that they are Bi.

y'know its mildy annoying for those of us who have been openly bi for a while just because if you get close to one of those people who says they're bi when they really dont know or aren't..... it bites. then again, i've read that like 90% of women and 60% of men have bi tendancies whether they recognise them or not and have liked someone of the same sex at least once.
and its fine if you think its gross. ist a wierd fad considering how many people are against any sort of gay or bisexual people. its not really about whether you think its gross or not, its whether you judge people by it, y'know?
so yeah, it is a little tiring for those of us who are bi just because it can hurt when the person your into is like, "well, umm, really i was just saying it because everyone else was.'' or because guys think its attractive or something.

It's kinda like jumping on a bandwagon.
I mean, it's not like you get speacial treatment for being bi and people that actually are bi get a bad name cos of the greedy people!!

Kim I wasn't being rude if you cant handle a different opinion to your own I suggest you decline to post them in public forums
SECONDLY I meant what I said its none of your business what there doing with themselves sexually or who they are doing with...why does it bother you so much are you homophobic or jealous that you dont have the confidence to try it yourself?

Eibutsina - I can handle a different opinion. But you were rather rude. Hence the reason I posted this on a public forum site, to get other opinions.

But hey that's your opinion. I may not agree. But clearly some others do. Which is why I felt it interesting to post.

"Teenagers will do anything to fit in with the crowd.. if it takes sleeping or having relationships with the same sex.. you bet your booty.. that they will do it."
I really don't think people should put all teenagers into a category like that. I'm a teenager and I won't do anything to fit into the crowd. If I did then I wouldn't be a virgin and I'd do drugs, but I don't.

If kids want to be bi, f*** 'em, let them be bi, it's better than having them smoke crack or crystal meth. *grins*
    ^ I agree

seriously. ive noticed it. not only that but like a few have said above.... teens jus wana fit in, however thats not the greatest way to fit in but thats what the world coming to lol. bein bi and doin drugs is high in the air for popularity and acceptance. but eventually they find themselves. =]] my outlook

I have worked with teens for a long time ,I do see a major difference over the last few years as far as girls claiming to be bi, I don`t know if there were always as many and because of society they hid it or if they are following the crowd . one thing that seems to me is that it seems more acceptable to just seek physical pleasure without it including a relationship, I try not to be judgemental but I guess I just don`t think thats very healthy emotionally.

Hey I’m a lesbotic lamb flap licker or gay for short. Does it really matter what spins your wheels as long as you’re being honest with yourself. If you take offence is it because someone is making a public display of their sexuality.

I personally believe that if I feel like holding some ones hand while I walk or give them an kiss (affectionate rather than passionate) in public then if you don’t like it too bad. When people go over the top its distasteful whether gay straight or bi.

Footnote; (If Kellis the singer wants to over the top with me I’d say that could be an exception to the rule)

You mean people such as trednbians? Girls who act like their lesbians or bi-sexual just for attention of guys?

  • Eibutsina

Kim if you think I was being rude thats your problem build a bridge and get over it. Im direct and firm in my opinions. If you dont appreciate that ask your friends to sugarcoat their own for you rather than asking a public forum...
My opinion is the fact that I dont care what other people do in there relationships, I have enough problems of my own to worry about let alone creating and taking on other peoples sexual experiementation issues....perhaps you should concentrate on yourself a lil more and bitching about others a lil less.

i think being "bi" these days is fashionable!! i know most of my friends claim they are, as if you should admire them.

  • Lyla

I know of alot of girls who say there bi to get attention from boys...

  • Eibutsina

Is the fact that they are bisexual...or the fact that they are getting the attention that really bothers you.

I don't know if so much fashionable as it is more openly discussed and accepted amongst society these days...?

  • Normal is the Watchword

I wouldn't care if they were bi. People are people but yes there are attention sekers.

I know I wouldn't say somethingI wasn't just to be in. Besides I'm straight anyway but again gay people and bi people are just people.
