A battle rages
In the confines of my mind.
Stars are lit ablaze.

My thoughts shatter to oblivion,
although a million more remain.
Pieces fly across my brain,
making me feel insane.
Please don't look at me;
I won't let those
poisonous
lips touch
mine.

Rape
Again;
Let it stop.
With all my heart
I want it to end.
Destroy my emotions
and my thoughts along with it.
The last thing I need is to feel:
any guilt for what you've done to me.

As the stars fade off,
the cycle of hardening
and breaking is done.

Paper Wings

The little girl looks out in the world,
But all she sees is rain.
So she sings a little lullaby,
To help rid herself of pain.

Sitting in the windowsill,
The little girl, she sings.
She sings about her pain, and loss
She sings about her paper wings..

*The life that i've been living,
Has left my soul, withered and worn,
and because of this wretched rain,
My paper wings are torn.*

No body hears her lovely voice,
Well, no one seems to care.
in the broken home she lives,
No love is ever there..

So the little girl sings to the world,
Hoping maybe, someone will hear,
Praying someone will help her to leave
And that her wings can be repaired.

The rain outside keeps pouring down,
and indoors the domestic storm grows.
So the little girl gets off the windwsill,
Realizing the world will never know.

Her paper wings will never again
be a wonderous and beautiful sight.
And never again will the little girl,
feel the sweet serenity of flight.

Upon the ear there comes a whisper
Tainted words that fail to ease
Simple lies that seem so twisted
Are captured by the mind to see.

The story behind her smile

She took a chance and made a move
No inhibitions holding her back
Just to see what he would do,
She asked him for a chat

At first he looked a little puzzled
But he finally said 'I guess'
He never knew that that afternoon
Would lay his secret to rest

She lead him to a quiet spot
Upon the fresh green grass
she looked him in the eye
And got up the nerve to ask

But then the hard reality set in
And she fidgeted for a bit
She looked cautiously up to the sky
And shyly bit her lip

As she stumbled on words she wanted to say
She felt a warm hand touch her arm
It was the boy she wanted so desperately
Even if he caused her harm

She noticed something kind of funny-
He was acting sort of strange
She asked him what was wrong, he said,
"I'm having trouble with this change."

She was puzzled beyond belief
But she asked him anyway
"What change is this you seem to be
Struggling with today?"

"There's a girl who I've grown closer to
And I think the love is true."
And as her shoulders sagged with loss and despair,
He said "that girl is you"...

Ghosts Don't Cry

Walking around, aimless, lost in the crowd.
Trying to be heard, but the noises are so loud.
After a long day, coming home to fights,
Not getting a word in edgewise; lonely nights.

Welcome to my life, I'm only a ghost,
Not noticed by many, ignored by most.
Often want to break down, and want to die,
Or cry my eyes out, but ghosts don't cry.

Finally a little freedom, out with friends,
But ignored by you, the pain never ends.
Love shown one way, yet hate the other,
Then the time comes to see my mother.

I see her only a little, yet important I'm not,
Complaining and yelling, making cheeks hot.
Talking to her boyfriend for an hour it seems,
Actually spending time with HER is just a dream.

Welcome to my life, a ghost I'll remain,
Many ignore me, many don't know my name.
Often I want to break down, but when I try,
I recall that one thing, ghosts don't cry.

Strange love

The city was dark, drowned into the silence of night,
Deep within the silver mist a white silhouette was in sight
Moving from place to place, from door to door,
Searching for something, each time more and more…

Fragile spider webs adorning windows of a broken home,
This long lost figure will now find that he’s not alone;
Outlined in cold moonbeams – her blackness was delight,
Such a beautiful creature – something worth for to fight.

He floated closer and closer, but she always ran away,
Every time she managed to escape filled him with dismay
And each time he wished he could just call out her name,
But when he opened his mouth – around silence was the same.

He chased her through the house, each time with no success,
Never could he get closer than almost touching her black dress;
He would laugh if he could, he would cry if his eyes’d let him,
He’d be happy with hearing her heartbeat but chances were slim.

After endless hours of this restless chase – she was suddenly still,
She turned around gently and reached for his hand – such a thrill,
Their fingers seemed to have touch, but neither could really feel,
She wished for his eternal company as her heart he wished to steal.

They spent minutes staring at each other without making a sound
They were anxious, but timid as if someone was around
And in one flash second she threw herself in his translucent arms,
He was gently caressing her hair – she felt safe from all harms.

The porcelain moon shone up on the blue and black velvet skies,
Two sorrowful souls were united – feelings of stomach butterflies,
A wondering white ghost for a groom and a black shadow for a bride,
Love is strange, but meant for all those who can feel it burn inside…

Mysterious maze, full of confusion
We are stunned by an illusion
Of how we got upon this wall
From way up here, everything looks so small

With a perfect circle, and twenty long chains
But only 19 wolves, that’s all the remains

An empty room, only 3 wooden chairs
There wasn’t even a flight of stairs
So there we sat, listening to the growls
And looking to the sky, there were some owls

Suddenly knocked over, I feel a sharp pain
Was there a way, for this wolf to refrain?
His claw sliced right through my chest
Then he cut into my breast

He smiled with crimson teeth
The other wolves, what were they beneath?

And Jessica, just stood there and stared

There was no voice to scream for help

My mother had saved me

Upon the edge of a forest so green,
Lays this little weeping girl, yet nobody has seen,
Her tears slither along her cheek so fair.
Though there was no one with whom she could share,
The amount of pain that laid her soul bare.

Upon the edge of a shore so white,
Sits this little crying boy, who lost his fight.
He tried to protect his mother from fate,
Though she told him he could not beat this create.
Now he would simply remember this sickening date.

Upon the edge of a sea so cobalt,
Rest these little howling lass, her tears so salt.
She was wishing that she did not have to go further.
Though she was condemned of a brutal murder,
She praised to the Lord to stay her herder.

Upon the edge of a cliff so high,

It all began with a tear from the sky,
Mirrorinmg the face of a mother
Who gave up her child.
The tears rained and the thunder sobbed,
Droplets drip, drip, dripped down
In decaying chords of desperation.

Memories were created, collected, carried away.
A streambed filled,
Flowing slow, slow, slowly,
it drifted away like clouds on an autumn morning,
Wounded with wonders as it wound around the world.

A current pulled and pushed,
Creating a wave of conformity in life's direction.
A youthful being followed, for she knew not of objection.
Debris, sediment, and lies clung to her body,
But still the youth complied.

The sun shown down with rain in absence,
But in the presence of light the youth struggles.
Rapids crash over bodies of the lost.
The water erodes the lies, leaving her bare, exposed,
As a person she cannot accept.
Desperately she tries to go back, return to the calm.

Beyond a bleak horizon lay the cliffs of corrosion,
The next leap in the youth's journey,
Or maybe her next fall.
Her fight will end, her battle won,
She will cascade to rock bottom,
Tossed back into the sedate for which she yearned.
The search for her origin will close.

But still, as she resides in the calm, growing and maturing,
No longer a youth but a young woman, she must fill a chasm,
Heal the lacerations of loneliness and questions,
And remember that she was not forgotten.
It will all end with a tear from the sky,
Mirroring the face of a mother
Reunited with the daughter she lost.

Roses In My Hand

The beauty as I see it
Lies flawless in my hand

Crystal tear drops are burning
Wilted petals where I stand

In sync they fall together
Roses blossomed in the dark
A flower, oh so pretty
Yet alone in every part

Deep...
Bloody red in color
With love and thorns of death
Beautiful...
For beholding eyes
Yet pain for every flesh

Perhaps not my best, but my favorite.
